MāndrēCreators’ Village
Participate

Nothing here is closed.

No membership, no fee, no application. Add a place, put on an event, fix something we got wrong, or bring a skill we don't have. Everything is reviewed by a person before it goes live — that is the only gate.

  • I'm a creator

Come to things. Bring work. The Tuesday open mic and the Thursday sessions are the two easiest doors — nobody will ask you what you do for a living.

    Say hello
  • I'm a builder

Build something the village can use. The directory, this website and the map are all open problems, and there are about ten more where those came from.

    Pick something up
  • I run a business here

Get listed. It costs nothing, it will never cost anything, and it puts you in front of everyone arriving who is looking for exactly what you do.

    Add your business
  • I'm organising something

Put it on the calendar. Workshops, gigs, screenings, meets, cleanups, festivals — if it is open to the public and rooted here, it belongs.

01 — Directory

Add a place to the directory.

Your own business, or somewhere you think belongs here. A contributor checks the details and it usually goes live within a few days. It is free and it will stay free.

This is what appears on the card. Say what it actually is, not what it aspires to be.
Only used if we need to check something.
Goes into the review queue, not straight onto the site.
02 — Calendar

Put something on the calendar.

Weekly, monthly or one-off. We review for accuracy, not for taste — if it is open to the public and happening in Mandrem, it belongs on the calendar.

Fill in one or the other — a date, or a recurrence.
Recurring events stay on the calendar until you tell us they've stopped.
03 — What we need

Specific things, in case “help out” is too vague.

  • Photography of the village, and of the people in it
  • Writing — profiles, interviews, notes on places
  • Walking into shops and confirming directory details
  • Konkani and Hindi translations
  • Organising events and helping run existing ones
  • Design, illustration and print
  • Local history and anything from before 2010
  • Building things on this website
04 — Join in

Tell us who you are.

The least formal thing on this page. Say what you do and what you would like to help with, and someone will come back to you.

Goes to the people running this, not to a mailing list.
05 — Corrections

Something here is wrong.

Hours changed, a place closed, a phone number is dead, we described somewhere badly. Tell us and we will fix it — this is genuinely one of the most useful things you can do.
